- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- 350 grams firm tofu (cubed)
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil (for frying)
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1/2 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 tablespoon ginger (finely chopped)
- 1 cup shiitake mushrooms (stems removed, sliced)
- 1 medium carrot (cubed)
- 1 cup baby broccoli florets (packed)
- 1 cup red bell pepper (packed, chopped)
- 2 cups bok choy (packed, chopped)
- 1 cup bean sprouts (packed)
Add all the sauce ingredients to a large mixing bowl and stir until well combined. Our sauce is ready!
Place the cubed tofu in a container and pour the sauce over the tofu. Marinate the tofu well.
Cover the container with a lid and place the tofu in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to marinate. Patience is the key to flavor!
Once the tofu is marinated, remove the tofu cubes from the sauce and set aside the remaining sauce.
Heat a pan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and fry the tofu cubes until golden. Now the excitement begins!
Remove the tofu from the pan and set aside.
Add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and the onion to the same pan, and cook until the onion softens.
Add the crushed garlic and chopped ginger, and cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the mushrooms, carrot, baby broccoli florets, and red bell pepper, and stir-fry until softened.
Pour the sauce over the vegetables and cook on low heat for about 2 minutes.
Add the tofu, bean sprouts, and bok choy, and stir until the bok choy slightly wilts.
Sprinkle with chopped fresh scallions and sesame seeds, and serve hot over rice. Enjoy your meal!
