Dear readers, today we will create wonders in the kitchen! With the Healthy Beef and Broccoli recipe, we will prepare a meal that is both practical and full of flavor. Believe me, with this recipe, you'll find a great alternative for your weekday dinners. Gluten-free, high in protein, and bursting with flavor. Let's get started!
- 1 lb (about 450 grams) flank steak (thinly sliced, bite-sized pieces)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
- 6 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
- ½ cup coconut aminos
- ¼ cup hot water
- ¼ cup coconut sugar
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ tablespoon grated ginger
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot starch
- 2 cups cooked rice or cauliflower rice
First, in a small bowl, mix the sauce ingredients well. Continue stirring until the coconut sugar is completely dissolved and set aside.
In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the broccoli florets, cover, and sauté for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the broccoli from the pan and set aside.
Meanwhile, thinly slice the flank steak. Remember to cut against the grain, which will make the meat softer.
Now turn the heat to high and add the remaining olive oil to the pan. Place the meat in the pan in a single layer and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring constantly.
After the meat is cooked, add the sauce to the pan and reduce the heat. Cook on low heat for about 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Add the broccoli back to the pan and stir to combine. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve. Enjoy your meal!
Star of the Kitchen: Healthy Beef and Broccoli Cooking Tips
Cutting the meat against the grain will give you a softer texture. If you can't find coconut aminos, you can use soy sauce.
